Key findings from the UK stroller and airline cabin compatibility study
The most striking result is the gap between product positioning and exact airline limits. Nine of the 15 pushchairs fit the 56 × 45 × 25 cm allowances published by easyJet, British Airways and Jet2, but only three fit every airline in the study.

- BabyTravel UK's 2026 study found that only 57 of 195 exact pushchair-to-airline dimensional comparisons passed, a compatibility rate of 29.2%.
- Three of the 15 compact pushchairs reviewed—the gb Pockit+ All-Terrain, gb Pockit+ All-City and Cybex Libelle—matched the published size limits of all 13 airlines.
- easyJet, British Airways and Jet2 each matched nine of the 15 models by dimensions, while each of the other ten airlines matched three.
- All 57 dimensional passes also met the matching airline's weight cap; folded width and depth excluded far more products than weight.

A green tick means the folded pushchair dimensions are no larger than the airline's stated cabin-bag dimensions after both sets of measurements are arranged smallest-to-largest. It does not mean the airline promises to accept the pushchair in the cabin.

Pushchairs accepted by the most airlines
These bars count exact dimensional matches out of 13. The sharp fall after the first three models shows why a general “cabin approved” label is less useful than checking the particular airline and fare.
Which airlines had the most dimensional matches?
easyJet, British Airways and Jet2 share the largest published dimensions in this sample: 56 × 45 × 25 cm. Nine models fit each of those limits. Every other airline matched the same three smallest-folding pushchairs.
Weight and folded-size comparison
Weight was included because several airlines publish a cabin-bag weight cap as well as dimensions. Nine models weighed 7 kg or less, while six exceeded Emirates' 7 kg Economy cap. None of those six matched the Emirates dimensions, so adding weight did not change the study's pass count. Other airline weight caps in the comparison ranged from 8 kg to 23 kg.

Methodology
The study uses a fixed release dated 14 August 2026. It compares 15 current compact or travel-focused pushchairs with 13 airlines represented in the existing BabyTravel UK stroller airline checker. Product versions and airline figures were refreshed for this release.
- Product sample: compact pushchairs already represented by, or closely related to models in, the checker were prioritised. This is a practical sample, not every pushchair sold in the UK.
- Airline limits: the largest published cabin-bag dimensions relevant to an Economy traveller were recorded from official airline pages. Some require a particular fare, status or paid bag.
- Orientation-neutral test: each set of three dimensions was sorted from smallest to largest. A pass required every pushchair dimension to be less than or equal to the corresponding airline dimension.
- No near-miss rounding: a model exceeding a limit by any amount failed. Manufacturer figures were used as published, including half-centimetres.
- Weight: weight was checked after the dimensional comparison. Every dimensional pass also met that airline's stated weight cap, although a pushchair may weigh more once accessories are added.
- What the result does not prove: a pass does not override an airline's pushchair policy or guarantee overhead-bin space. Gate staff, aircraft type, fare and available space can still change what happens.

Product specification sources
Folded dimensions and weights were checked against manufacturer product pages, technical information or manuals where a current public page was available. The sample also retains several widely used earlier models from the existing checker, so the model name matters when comparing your own pushchair.

Questions about the study
Does “fits” mean an airline will let me take the pushchair into the cabin?
No. It means the folded dimensions match the stated bag limit. You still need to check whether your fare includes that bag and how the airline handles pushchairs on your route.
Why are dimensions sorted before comparing them?
A folded pushchair can be turned inside a rectangular baggage frame. Sorting both sets of dimensions tests whether there is any sensible orientation in which the pushchair fits.
Why does a model advertised as cabin-size fail some airlines?
There is no single cabin-size standard shared by every airline. A width or depth that works within a 56 × 45 × 25 cm limit can exceed a stricter 55 × 40 × 20 cm limit.
Were wheels and accessories included?
The study uses the manufacturer's complete folded dimensions and published pushchair weight. Loose accessories or a separate travel bag may increase the finished size or weight.
How often will the data be updated?
Airline pages are scheduled for quarterly review and material changes are added to the airline baby policy change tracker. The study retains its release date so citations remain clear.
