What changed in 2026?
Aer Lingus made the first confirmed operational change in this release: from 3 March 2026, its 10 kg cabin-bag policy was extended across all Aer Lingus Regional flights. The 2026 compatibility study also exposed two older cabin-dimension figures in the BabyTravel UK checker, which have been recorded as corrections rather than presented as airline changes.
The distinction matters
Confirmed policy change means the airline announced or implemented a change with a known date. Baseline correction means our previous record did not match the current official page; it does not prove when the airline changed its rule.

The current official Economy allowance is 55 × 38 × 22 cm. BabyTravel UK's checker previously used 55 × 38 × 20 cm. The correction gives two extra centimetres of depth without changing the airline's 7 kg Economy weight cap.

Methodology and update schedule
- Official airline help pages, baggage pages, tariffs and media releases are the preferred sources.
- A confirmed change needs an effective date or a dated airline announcement that describes what changed.
- If the current official page conflicts with our previous data and no effective date is available, the entry is recorded as a BabyTravel UK correction.
- The baseline is reviewed quarterly, with additional checks when an airline announces a family-travel or baggage change.
- Material amendments are also recorded through the public research corrections process.

Airline policy tracker questions
Is this a live feed from the airlines?
No. It is a manually verified research tracker. Each entry links to the official evidence used and shows the date of the current review.
Why are only confirmed changes listed?
A short, verifiable log is more useful than a large list of rumours or undated differences. A baseline row does not become a change entry until there is enough evidence to describe what changed and when.
Does the cabin limit apply to a pushchair?
Not automatically. The limit is used for dimensional comparison, but the airline's family and equipment rules determine whether a pushchair can use that allowance.
What should I check before flying?
Check your exact fare, route, operating carrier and the airline's current family-travel page. Save a copy of any written confirmation if your plans depend on cabin carriage.
